Godcage

You are the archmage and creator of the skycity of Magonia, an engineering marvel and the only of its kind. Those lucky few who live upon the aerial citadel are blessed with lives of luxury, for machines and magic serve their every need: filling their plates with food, sweeping their streets of refuse, and holding the cold winds of the atmosphere at bay. As the city roams the land selling its mechanical wonders and buying grain and iron from the provinces below, it is the center of envy and desire the continent over.  

But everything has a cost, and none of them know the great sin that pays their mounting debt. None of them know what you did for them, and what you continue to do to maintain your life of fame and luxury. 

None of them know about the god trapped in the heart of their city, stolen and burned perpetually in the engines like wood for the pyre. None of them know how it reaches up, extending its will into the pipes and the cobblestones, desperate to touch the blue heavens. Desperate to unmake the throne they sit upon. 

Desperate to look upon your lovely face again.

You stopped visiting when my pain grew too great. I suppose I must remind you of what you’ve done.

GODCAGE is a solo game about maintaining a flying city whose engine is a tortured and imprisoned god. As the weeks pass, you struggle to keep the city's enchantments intact, repair those that break, and fortify them against further destruction. All that's required to play is a pencil, a paper, a set of polyhedral dice (from D4 to D12), and a conscience.
